Stephen A. Smith Would Consider Run For President In 1 Circumstance

Over the past decade, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith has become as famous as any single person in the sports world for his hot takes, loud opinions, and at times blasphemous arguments. His stardom has now risen to a point where he's looked at not just for his sporting opinions, but his opinions on all walks of life, from politics to fitness.

Might he play into that political aspect of things in the near future?

After the historic Presidential election that took place earlier this week, Smith says that he is certainly open to it. This week on 'The View,' Smith stated that he would consider a presidential run in 2028, but only on one condition.

"If you came to me and you told me I had a legitimate shot to win the presidency of the United States of America, I would definitely consider it," Smith said.

It may seem wild to suggest that someone with no political experience, such as Stephen A. Smith, would make a political run, but when you consider that President Donald Trump was in a similar position leading up to the 2016 election, it opens up the door.

"I have said this on many occasions," Smith said. "The answer would be 'Hell no,' because I like my life. But I must confess, I wish I could debate some of these guys. I would love to be on a debate stage with these guys with the presidency on the line."

Smith went viral earlier this month after going on Fox News and having a debate with Sean Hannity, where he left the news anchor distraught as he sat back and smiled. Forged in the fire of sports debate, Smith seems to possess the qualities necessary to win on a political debate stage.

"I'm half joking, but I kind of mean it," Smith said. "I have no desire to be a congressional figure, but if you came to me and you told me I had a legitimate shot to win the presidency of the United States of America, I would definitely consider it."

Does that mean we will start to see Stephen A. Smith campaign posters start to litter the streets? It's unlikely, but in today's day and age, anything is possible.
