Since the election, the focus has been on what Trump and his merry band of sociopaths were going to do to our govt, but something that hasn't gotten a lot attention is how Trump's team will be able to handle a crisis, or multiple crises. His team was picked primarily because they're loyal to him, but how can this team respond to a situation like Syria which has all the potential of going bad in a big way.
It's handling or mishandling the unknown unknowns that define a presidency. We have a team of rank amateurs inbound in key situations. How is Pistol Pete Hegseth going to respond to liberated Syria? How will Tulsi respond? What if Russia decides to restore Asaad? Will Rubio help him? Is Trump willing to send American troops to help restore Asaad?
World events can spiral out of control at the drop of a hat. And soon, we won't have a competent government to deal with it.
