The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department says one person is in critical condition after an early morning crash Monday. Officers were called to Northeast 49th Terrace and North Chouteau Drive just after 3:30 a.m. to investigate a serious single-vehicle crash with injuries.Early reports state a blue Honda Civic was northbound on Chouteau at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to negotiate the curve just north of 49th Terrace.The vehicle drove off the right side of the road where it struck a large tree.The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was rushed to an area hospital with critical injuries. The vehicle's front seat passenger, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not hurt. The investigation into this crash is ongoing.
