The Bruins have summoned another player from Providence before Thursday's game at Dallas.
The team announced that they've summoned P-Bruins captain Patrick Brown.
It's unclear whether Brown will play on Thursday or is providing depth for a team that is only carrying 12 forwards. The choice of Brown over players with higher offensive upsides indicates the Bruins were likely looking for someone to slot into a bottom-six role.
Brown, who spent time in Boston and Providence last year, was named the captain of Boston's AHL team this year. The 32-year-old Boston College product played 11 regular season games and three playoff games in the NHL last year.
In 12 games this season, he has three goals and four assists for seven points. The 6-foot-1, 209-pound right shot-forward can play center or win. He played in 149 career NHL games for the Bruins, Senators, Flyers, Golden Nights and Hurricanes with 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points. A native of Michigan native signed with Carolina as an undrafted free agent in 2014.
