GRAFTON, W.Va. (WBOY) -- Students at Grafton High School got a chance to step out of class and learn something different on Tuesday during the third annual Hour of Code.
During the Hour of Code, students got to select one workshop or presentation focused on a technology-related topic to attend for one hour. Not only were students able to learn skills that might not be taught on a daily basis but they could also win prizes courtesy of the Country Roads Code Grant.
Events like this have the ability to help high school students pick a future career path.
"There's a lot out there to do in this world and you know cool things like flying a drone are possible and you know at Grafton High School there are a lot of opportunities like this and that there important to learn different things about your community and you know cool technologies like flying a drone and taking a picture of yourself," Grafton High School junior Parker Biller said.
There were many different organizations at Grafton High School teaching the students about technology, but some of the most popular among the students were the presentations on drone programming and drone flying.
