DALLAS -- The Guardians are expected to make the Shane Bieber signing official in the next few days. The former Cy Young Award winner, who agreed to a one-year deal with a club option, has to pass a physical.

That was the good news to come out of the Major League Baseball Winter Meetings on Monday. Bieber, of course, is recovering from Tommy John surgery on his right elbow and is not expected to return to Cleveland's rotation until just before the All-Star break.
