At 9:10 p.m. Dec. 5, a man, 33, called police to report that his neighbor was ranting and pulled a gun on him. Officers learned that the gun was a toy.
The neighbor with the toy, also 33, was upset because his dog was barking as the other man was shoveling his driveway.
Also, police found that the man with the toy was wanted on a Broadview Heights police warrant. The BHPD, however, advised the LPD to merely advise the man of the warrant.
Lyndhurst police charged him with aggravated menacing.
Warrant arrest: Richmond Road
At 5:25 a.m. Dec. 9, police were called to CVS/Pharmacy, 1443 Richmond Road, on a report of a man and woman shoplifting.
The suspects were in a car leaving when police arrived. A stop was conducted in the parking lot.
It was learned that the man, 56, of Maple Heights, was wanted on Beachwood and Eastlake police warrants.
The man was arrested and turned over to Eastlake police.
The woman, 38, of Garfield Heights, admitted shoplifting cleaning products. The store did not wish to pursue charges against her, and she was released.
Psychiatric situation: Richmond Road
At 2:10 a.m. Dec. 8, dispatch for Richmond Heights police received a 911 call from a "hysterical" woman who was traveling south on Richmond Road. The woman hung up and several attempts to call her back were met with hang-ups.
Dispatch notified Lyndhurst police that it had received a call from the same number on Jan. 31 and relayed to officers the address given on that date. Police went to the Lyndhurst home and found the woman in her car in the driveway.
After speaking with the 23-year-old Lyndhurst woman and learning that she had suicidal thoughts, police had her transported to MetroHealth Hospital in Cleveland Heights.
OVI: Richmond Road
At 4 p.m. Dec. 6, police took a report of a driver asleep behind the wheel of a car stopped in traffic on Richmond Road, near the Colony House Apartments, 1400 Richmond Road.
The driver, a Cleveland man, 42, failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for OVI.
The man was found to have a blood-alcohol content of .123, above the state minimum for drunk driving of .08.
OVI: Gordon Road
At 2:35 a.m. Dec. 4, a man reported that a car struck his car, parked in the street on Gordon Road, then drove away. The suspect was last seen heading west on Anderson Road.
Police spotted the damaged car in South Euclid and attempted a traffic stop on South Green Road. The car slowed, but then continued south on South Green.
Lyndhurst police were joined in the pursuit by South Euclid and Highland Heights officers.
The chased car's fastest speed was estimated at 45 miles per hour. It eventually came to a stop at 1170 S. Green Road.
The driver, a South Euclid woman, 46, failed field sobriety testing and was arrested for OVI. She had a blood-alcohol content of .212.
The report does not indicate the woman's reason for not initially stopping for police.
