The most famous backup in college football took the field for one play in Texas' first overtime possession in the SEC Championship Game.

Manning gained 5 yards on a run before leaving the game. Starting quarterback Quinn Ewers then entered the game for the rest of the drive. Texas would go on to make a field goal on the possession.

The winner of the game locks up a top-four seed in the College Football Playoff and a first-round bye. The loser will be relegated to an at-large bid and a first-round game.
