Sabrina Carpenter received her first Grammy nomination ever this week and her boyfriend Barry Keoghan couldn't be more proud. The actor made an appearance on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show with host Julia Cunningham on Friday, and he shouted out her accomplishment during the interview, explaining how he felt after getting the news.

"Brilliant, brilliant. I know, absolutely brilliant, six nominations! I'm really, really happy for her," he said. "I gotta get on the phone soon. Don't put me on the spot, lads."

Barry continued, "But no, I'm really, really, I, you know, I don't know anyone who works as hard, you know, I'm in awe of her, watching her work and her committed and the standards that she sets, you know, especially being on that, that music video."

Keoghan starred in Carpenter's music video for her hit song "Please Please Please." In an interview with Variety in August, she shared more about the casting choice, saying, "He loved the song. He's obsessed with the lyrics, and I'm so grateful for that. I don't want to sound biased, but I think he's one of the best actors of this generation. So getting to see him on the screen with my song as the soundtrack made the video better and all the more special."

Amongst her nominations, Carpenter was tapped for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist.

Carpenter and Keoghan are mostly private about their relationship, though he did gush about her on The Louis Theroux Podcast. After being asked about his girlfriend, he responded, "Listen, all I'm going to say is I'm incredibly blessed," adding that his girlfriend is "such a strong, independent lady, who's massively talented and yeah, pretty special."
