Ohio State Highway Patrol urging drivers to be patient this holiday season

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OHIO (WTRF) -- It's one of the busiest times of the year out on the roads and the Ohio State Highway Patrol will once again be increasing their presence on roadways.

Ohio State Highway Patrol Sergeant Scott Moore says they are asking drivers to stay aware and be patient while traveling this holiday season. He says they will be looking closely for aggressive and erratic drivers, those driving impaired, and motorists who are speeding.

Since the roadways will be very crowded, Sergeant Moore says they will be staying busy.

"We get inundated with reckless operation calls and aggressive driving calls, which requires a lot of our attention. So, we're constantly looking for that and a lot of times those calls turn into be impaired drivers. So, we're really ramping up the enforcement on that with zero tolerance on the aggressive driving and high speeds."

Seargent Moore says if you see a driver who is driving erratically or at a high speed, you can call #677 and they will do their best to assess the situation.
