After making the world's clunkiest BLE key finder in https://hackaday.io/project/197894-the-worlds-clunkiest-key-finder, I now want to make the smallest one possible. This project will be both the hardware, with the gerbers of the PCB and BOM, and the firmware to run on it.
To make it even more challenging I will try to keep the BOM around 1€/$/£, to compete with the Asian economy of scale (which is kansloos, as we would say in the lower countries.)
This is my first project that requires designing a PCB, so it will be a lot of trial and error. Many Bluetooth SoCs have a minimal circuit design, which should make it a bit easier though.
I will start with the CH592, but will explore options that use a dedicated BLE tx chip + MCU combo as well like the Ci24R1.
