Virtually everything that happens on this planet is symbiotic. Whether we're talking about hiccups in food chains, natural disasters, or one year's tomato crops being better than the last, there's a knock-on effect in all facets of life on Earth.
When it comes to climate change, though, these effects aren't always straightforward -- or immediate, for that matter -- making it challenging for us to wrap our minds around the implications of a warming planet. Truth be told, climate change has been underway since our planet has existed, and its effects on grapevines are tremendous, especially when considering how sensitive and delicate wine grapes are. As wine writer Jancis Robinson said, "The inherent uniqueness that wine region climates provide places the industry at greater risk for climate change than most broadly grown agricultural crops."
On this episode of "Wine 101," Keith kicks off his series on climate change and how it's affected the global wine industry over the years. Tune in for more.
