FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A Fresno Police School Resource Officer was involved in a crash while responding to a call Wednesday morning in southeast Fresno, according to the Fresno Police Department.
The crash occurred around 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Peach Avenue.
Police say the officer was responding with his emergency lights and sirens activated to a school site to assist another officer.
While responding to the call police say the officer was traveling south on Peach Avenue. While he was clearing the intersection of Cesar Chavez Boulevard all vehicles traveling eastbound came to a stop and yielded to the police vehicle.
Police say that is when the officer collided with a green pickup truck. That truck bounced off and collided with another vehicle northbound on Peach Avenue which then collided into a fourth vehicle.
The officer, the driver of the truck and their passenger were transported to a local hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
