Julian Humphrey, former Georgia starting CB, commits to Texas A&M

The former Georgia cornerback is transferring to Texas A&M, he shared on Sunday morning. Humphrey started 10 games for Georgia this season before entering the transfer portal.

Humphrey is a big-time addition for the Aggies this offseason. He'll likely project as a starter in Texas A&M's secondary next season with 2024 starter BJ Mayes now out of collegiate eligibility. A&M's other starting cornerback, Will Lee, has already announced his plans to return to campus for another season.

This past season in Athens, Humphrey registered 10 tackles and 4 pass deflections. According to Pro Football Focus, he played 262 snaps this season for the Bulldogs. He was targeted 25 times and allowed 14 catches for 238 yards. PFF gave him a coverage grade for the season of 69.0, which ranks 16th amongst SEC cornerbacks with at least 250 coverage snaps on the year.

He'll now arrive in College Station to play for a Texas A&M defense that's hoping to take another step forward next season. The Aggies had the No. 5 pass defense efficiency rating in the SEC in 2024, but there's still room for improvement as they try to build a College Football Playoff contender.

Humphrey has 2 seasons of eligibility remaining.
