Several sources in Italy claim Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior is among Napoli's main defensive targets for January, and the latest injury to Alessandro Buongiorno could force the Partenopei to change their transfer strategy.
Napoli will be looking for a new centre-back in the winter transfer window, especially after an injury to their star defender, Buongiorno, who will remain out of action for nearly two months.
Gazzetta dello Sport, Tuttosport and Corriere dello Sport all report that Napoli are closely monitoring Kiwior.
Napoli were interested in a loan deal with an option to buy before Buongiorno's injury, but the recent setback may force the Partenopei to change their strategy and consider a loan with an option to buy or a permanent transfer, according to Gazzetta.
As per Corriere dello Sport, Napoli are also considering ex-Lazio defender Luiz Felipe, a cheaper option than Kiwior, given that the 27-year-old is currently without a club.
The Rome-based paper adds that Napoli are planning to sell Juan Jesus, Michael Folorunsho, Giacomo Raspadori and Leonardo Spinazzola in January to raise funds for a new defender and other reinforcements.
