Colts injury updates: Latest news on Josh Downs, Michael Pittman, more

The Indianapolis Colts return from their bye facing the most pivotal game of the season in Week 15.

The week off seemingly did the Colts some favors as the injury report featured only two players being listed as "Did Not Practice" to begin the week Wednesday.

There are some big names on the injury report ahead of the Week 15 matchup against the Denver Broncos so here are the latest updates.

The two biggest names on the offensive side of the ball come from the wide receiver room as both Downs and Pittman were dealing with injuries entering the bye week.

Downs (shoulder) suffered his injury during the Week 12 loss against the Detroit Lions. He was able to finish the game but was inactive for the Week 13 win against the New York Jets.

Downs started the week as a limited participant at practice, which is a good sign for his chances to return this week.

As for Pittman, who has been dealing with a litany of injuries this season, he was listed with only a back injury on the practice report Wednesday.

The $70 million wide receiver has played through injuries for the majority of the second half of the season, but the week off did him some good. Pittman was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's practice.

As for the other injury updates, center Ryan Kelly (knee) returned to practice for the first time since being placed on the Reserve/Injured list. He was listed as limited. The same goes for rookie linebacker Jaylon Carlies (shoulder, fibula), who has been on the reserve list since Week 8.

Starting right tackle Braden Smith (personal) continues to be away from the team while wide receiver Ashton Dulin (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
