In celebration of the film's upcoming 30th anniversary, David Fincher's crime thriller "Se7en" will be released for the first time digitally in 4K Ultra HD and on 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc on Jan. 7. The physical version will be available online and at major retailers while the digital release will be available on Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Fandango at Home and more. Additionally, the film will be released in IMAX for the very first time in a limited engagement across more than 150 domestic Imax screens.

"Se7en," Fincher's second feature after helming "Alien 3," was written by Andrew Kevin Walker ("The Killer") and features a cast full of then-future Hollywood mainstays, including Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey. The film follows two cops (played by Pitt and Freeman) tracking a killer (Spacey) who targets victims whom he determines perpetrated one of the "seven deadly sins."

In 1995, "Se7en" not only redeemed Fincher's reputation as a director but marked him as a skilled and meticulous technician and visualist. He subsequently helmed "The Game" (1997), "Fight Club" (1999), "Zodiac" (2007), "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" (2008), "The Social Network" (2010), "Gone Girl" (2014), "Mank" (2020) and "The Killer" (2023). Fincher has been nominated three times at the Academy Awards for best director (2009, 2011 and 2021) but has never won in the category.

The 4K restoration of "Se7en" was completed at Warner Bros. Discovery's Motion Picture Imaging and sourced from the original camera negative. The restoration was overseen by Fincher. Audiences can experience the film in Imax for the first time for a limited engagement starting January 3, 2025.
