When I was younger, you know, in the late 1900's, I was an easily amused child.
My family had a very special tradition that I'm not sure many families continue to do today (especially with the price of gas).
That tradition was to gather up the family, hop in the car, and drive around the different neighborhoods, looking at Christmas lights.
One of the cute (according to my parents) things that I would say when I saw a beautifully lit house was:
My dad and my older brother would have their fun and point at random lights.
A lamp post, stop lights, and lovingly mock their 5-year-old family member!
This is one of those holiday memories that means a lot to me.
I hope that such holiday attractions like the Drive Through Holiday Light Fest at State Fair Park or the Northern Pacific Railway Museum's Toy Train Christmas can help create memories for youngsters to cherish 35-plus years later.
In keeping with that old tradition, here are 21 lights that my father and brother would have pointed at and asked me, "Hey Timmy, pretty huh?"
And you already know my answer to that question when I was little, but now, my answer is, "It's not burnt out, so hell yeah, 'Pretty Huh!'"
